GILFORD ROTARY CLUB ACTIVITIESThe Members of the Gilford Rotary are involved in many fund raising projects which enable us to fund our on going projects. The rotary term " Service Above Self" probably best typifies the Gilford Rotarian. We expect that every member contributes his or her fair share to the welfare of the club, and therefore to the Gilford community. We are all proud of our achievements and hope to expand on them in the future.Our major fund raiser is the Gilford Rotary Food and Concession Stand at the New Hampshire International Speedway. There are approximately six races each year with each race totaling three days of club participation at the track. Another fund-raiser is the annual Christmas Tree Sale, which has been in operation since 1986. This sale starts about the first of December and is now a two week sale. Our third major fund-raiser is the annual Gilford Old Home Day Pancake Breakfast. We start the day's activities with a hearty breakfast and fellowship for many of our communitiy's residents. We have a fund-raiser called The Rock N Ribfest. It will some day hopefully generate as much money as the concession stand at the race track does. With proceeds obtained from these activities the Gilford Rotary helps to contribute to the needs of our community and the needs of the world through Rotary International. |
